Halloween party photos, every costume in one album
Put a QR code by the snacks and on the front door. Guests scan it and upload their costume photos from the phone browser, with no app and no account. You get one private album with everyone's pictures, a live slideshow for the TV, and an easy way to run the costume contest. One price per party, from $39.
Why Halloween photos get lost
Halloween is the one party where everybody wants pictures of everybody else. The costumes took weeks, and the best photos of yours are on somebody else's phone. By Monday they are buried under work screenshots.
A QR code fixes the timing. Guests upload while they are still in costume and still at your house.
Run the costume contest from the album
Add photo challenges for your categories: best costume, scariest, funniest, best couple, best group. Guests upload their entries under each one, so you do not have to line everyone up at the same time.
Open the guest gallery and let people heart their favorites. That gives you a people's-choice vote without paper ballots, and the winners are easy to announce from the slideshow.
Put the slideshow on the TV
Open the live slideshow on a laptop connected to the TV. New photos appear as guests upload them. People who see their costume on the screen send more, and the ones who have not scanned yet go looking for the code.
Works for the office, the block, and the kids
For an office party, send the link in the team channel so remote colleagues can add their costumes too. For a neighborhood trick-or-treat or a school parade, print the code on the flyer, and every parent ends up with photos they did not have to take themselves.
Albums are reachable only by link or QR code and are not indexed by search engines, which matters when there are children in the pictures.
Set it up this week
Setting up takes a few minutes. Name the album, print the sign, and test the upload from your own phone. You can see your QR code and the guest page for free, and you pay when you activate the album to collect photos.
Questions
- Do guests need to download an app or create an account?
- No. Guests scan the QR code or tap the link, and the upload page opens in their phone's browser. There is no app to install and no sign-up, which is why older relatives use it too.
- Do photos taken in a dark room upload fine?
- Yes. Guests upload whatever their phone camera took, in the resolution they send. For better pictures, set up one well-lit corner as a photo spot and put a second QR code there.
- Can guests upload videos of the costume reveal?
- Yes, on plans that include video. Guests pick videos from their camera roll the same way as photos.
- Who can see the photos?
- Only people who have your album link or QR code. Albums are not listed publicly and are not indexed by search engines. As the host you can remove any photo, and you decide whether guests can browse the gallery or only upload.
